Spooky Jazz By Candlelight – Inspired by the Addams Family
Come if you dare, to shake a leg but beware. Frightful fun awaits you at DANCEWORKS halloween lair (spooky decorated studio)
Step into the candlelight this Halloween for a special theatrical jazz workshop combining musical theatre, character and choreography with a spooky twist. Inspired by The Addams Family musical, this atmospheric workshop will take place under candlelight, creating the perfect setting to embrace the wonderfully weird and theatrical world of this iconic family.
The session will begin with a full warm-up before moving into technique and exercises designed to develop your jazz movement, musicality, performance quality and characterisation. You’ll then learn a theatrical jazz choreography inspired by the dark humour, eccentric characters and playful energy of the musical. This workshop is open to all levels, so whether you’re an experienced dancer or simply looking for a fun and different way to celebrate Halloween, you’re welcome to join.
Halloween costumes are highly encouraged so feel free to dress up, add some face paint or simply come in something suitably spooky. Please make sure you can still move comfortably and safely in whatever you choose to wear.
At the end of the workshop there will also be dedicated time to film the choreography for anyone who would like to capture their performance.

Biography
Tommy is British artist and creative with a background in musical theatre and dance education. Tommy’s early performance path led him to work with Silva young as a child and perform for the queen at the Royal Albert hall. Later influences and mentors would shape Tommy’s Music Theatre and creative leadership career. After training with Philip Foster, as a singer Tommy performed in Pictures of life a new work for Lionel Sigeal and later Sir Tim Rice as his lead tenor vocalist for a self entitled show (An Evening with Sir Tim Rice) Tommy has a background in grass roots Jazz, mastering styles from fosse, matt Mattox and Aliey. Tommys Jazz tech training was provided under the guidance of Teresa Kerr (London studios/Ready Steady Go) this disco tech jazz, combined with American styles of cabaret jazz define Tommys unique style as a choreographer and dance trainer.
