Benjamin Ella is a former Soloist of The Royal Ballet, where he performed for almost 17 years. He trained at The Royal Ballet School, graduating with honours and receiving the Outstanding Male Graduate award alongside Vadim Muntagirov.
During his career, Benjamin performed a wide range of classical and contemporary repertoire. His principal and featured roles included Albrecht in Giselle, the Prince in The Nutcracker, and prominent roles in works by Kenneth MacMillan, Christopher Wheeldon, Wayne McGregor, Crystal Pite, Hofesh Shechter and other leading choreographers.
Alongside his performing career, Benjamin developed a strong interest in teaching and coaching. His classes draw on his experience at The Royal Ballet and focus on clear classical technique, musicality, artistry and helping dancers move with greater confidence, freedom and understanding.
Benjamin’s intermediate ballet class offers a clear, focused approach to classical technique in a positive and encouraging atmosphere.
The class is designed to be simple in structure but challenging in execution, giving dancers the space to work with greater clarity, coordination and confidence. Drawing on Benjamin’s training at The Royal Ballet School, his career with The Royal Ballet and elements of the Vaganova method, the class places strong emphasis on musicality, line, placement, quality of movement and the enjoyment of dancing.
Students can expect a supportive working environment where they are encouraged to challenge themselves, improve and develop greater freedom and expression in their dancing.
Suitable for dancers with a secure understanding of classical ballet vocabulary and intermediate-level technique.
