Adam Pudney Ballet Teacher at Danceworks

“Fantastic class, brilliant teacher and fun atmosphere. Will definitely be back!” – Emilie S

Biography

Adam trained at the Australian Ballet School in Melbourne, before relocating to London to pursue his career. He joined the now-defunct London City Ballet in the corps de ballet and as a soloist, establishing himself as a strong character artist. He performed roles such as “Dr. Coppelius” in Coppelia, “Baron Von Rothbart” in Swan Lake, and “Hilarion” in Giselle.

Adam had an extensive career as a freelance dancer, working in many productions by English National Opera, the Royal Opera House, Scottish Opera, Glyndebourne Festival Opera, and Raymond Gubbay’s popular “in-the-round” operas at the Royal Albert Hall.

Branching out from classical ballet and drawing on skills he learned in his youth, especially acrobatics and break-dancing, Adam had success on the commercial dance circuit appearing in television and feature films which included Human Traffic, Phantom of The Opera, Pride, and Prejudice as well as working closely with the director on choreographed scenes in Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut. Adam was one of Kylie Minogue’s backing dancers for several world tours, working closely with choreographer Rafael Bonachela.

In 2007, Adam gained a Teaching Diploma from the Royal Academy of Dance and now teaches across London and is also a full-time member of the teaching staff at Ballet Black.

Class Description

Improvers Class

Adam teaches professional-level ballet at Danceworks with a minimum age requirement of 13 years old. His class is physically demanding and offers the dancer an opportunity to experience a broader training beyond the British style. He delivers challenging, yet logical and flowing enchaînements (combinations)  with a strong emphasis on performance and artistry. His class is suited to those going into vocational training through to working professional dancers, or those at an elementary/intermediate standard who wish to challenge themselves further.

General Class

In his General level class Adam aims to provide choreographic, musical and technical ballet combinations. It is suitable for Improvers who wish to further their vocabulary of steps and graduate to slightly more challenging enchantments, and for dancers of all levels ranging from Elementary to Professional, who want to kick-start their weekend with an enjoyable and fulfilling ballet class.

PLEASE NOTE: This class is NOT suited for beginners.
