Biography
Patricia (she/her) is a freelance dancer, model and movement director based in London and L.A.
Trained at the Kirov Academy in Washington D.C., Patricia became a Prix de Lausanne prizewinner in just four years of training. Patricia danced at The Royal Ballet, Staatsballett-Berlin, and L.A. Dance Project, before becoming a freelance dancer in 2019 to pursue creating her own work.
Though Patricia comes from a ballet background, she applies a contemporary view to classical techniques. She has worked with choreographers such as Ohad Naharin, Nacho Duato, Benjamin Millepied, Hofesh Schecter, Charm LaDonna, Jacob Jonas, and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui amongst many others. This has allowed her to work and dance in many different styles, which she believes are complimentary to her ballet experience.
Patricia has done choreography as well as direction for dance films of her own. She hopes to bring dance and joy of movement to a bigger audience through her teaching platform (launched in 2020) and grow awareness of dance as a story-telling medium through her films.
Patricia has taught internationally for over 10 years in cities including Hong Kong, Arles, Beijing, Wuhan, Detroit, Los Angeles, and Singapore.
Class Description
Patricia’s class is open to all dancers aged 13 and over at an improver/ intermediate level.
Her class incorporates a mixture of the different styles that she has learned over the years dancing around the world. You can expect a European-style ballet class influenced by Vaganova épaulement with just a touch of Balanchine speed and clarity. With an emphasis on “dancing,” Patricia likes to challenge the dancers with choreographic combinations that work not only the body, but the brain as well, and help them to use breath, dynamics, and musicality to make their dancing stand out through her corrections.
Anyone looking to improve is welcome to Patricia’s class. Whether you are a contemporary or classically-trained dancer, a student or adult — just be ready to work hard, get sweaty and have fun!”
