Kate initiated her ballet training at the Bush Davies & Arts Educational School and graduated from the Rambert School embarking on a freelance performance career that offered her the opportunity to work alongside some of the renowned choreographers of the time.
Her professional performance career as member of David Massingham Dance brought an insight into teaching and working with young dancers and professionals. She performed in Operas in London and Milan working with Amir Housseinpour, Lloyd Newson, Ashley Page and Wayne McGregor and worked as a Choreographer’s assistant in revival productions of Royal Opera House Cherubin and Faust 2019. She danced in commercial projects, music videos and live events. She has also worked as a creative producer curating content for live events.
Silver Swans Ballet 55+ is a specialized programme developed by the Royal Academy of Dance to promote the accessibility and enjoyment of ballet for older learners. Classes are specially adapted and suitable for all dancers whether at beginner or advanced levels; although some knowledge of ballet is desirable, this class is not suitable for complete beginners.
Classes are designed to impart the ethos of classical ballet focussing on the musicality, posture and alignment of the ballet technique as well as building strength, flexibility, co-ordination and balance.
A typical class can include barre, centre practice and travelling sequences with a focus on gaining a strong foundation technique, developing artistry and performance quality.
Silver Swans classes are adaptable and inclusive, perfect if you are looking for a class to rehab injury or working through mobility issues; just let us know in advance so we can accomodate your needs.
