Danceworks is excited to present a brand new set of courses where you will learn choreography in your chosen style in preparation for a group performance, at an exciting showcase evening event for friends and family at Danceworks on 25th October, with additional guest performances by our talented faculty and staff members.
With six styles to choose from – Classical Ballet, Fosse, Flamenco, Stage Performance, Female Street, Contemporary – this is a great opportunity for you to learn a choreography over several weeks set for stage, perform to an audience and build your confidence. Our showcase aims to bring everyone together to celebrate our shared passion for dance and nurture talent within our community.

FLAMENCO WITH MAIKA JIMENEZ BLANCO
SUNDAYS |10-11AM | IMP+LEVEL | 21ST SEPT -25TH OCT | £120 | 18+
This course is specially designed for our regular students who have been enjoying weekly Flamenco classes and are excited to take part in our upcoming showcase. Together, we’ll revisit and polish a Flamenco choreography we’ve already learnt during the 2024–2025 academic year, helping you feel confident and ready to perform on stage.
Perfect for improvers with a good grasp of Flamenco technique and rhythm, this course will focus on bringing out your best performance, enhancing your expression, and stage presence. To ensure the group works well together, we won’t be accepting new students for this course. The last lesson will be on Saturdays 25th at 15-16. Join us to celebrate your progress and share the passion of Flamenco with family and friends at the Danceworks showcase!
STAGE PERFORMANCE WITH JENNY STONES
SAT | 1-2.30PM | INT LEVEL | 6TH SEPT – 25TH OCT | £210 | 18+
A 7-week workshop to showcase your love for dance. Over the course you will learn an extended choreography which will be performed in a group. The goal is to work as a team to create a powerful and sexy visual. If you’ve always dreamed of being part of a dance crew and performing on stage, this program is for you. We expect a strong commitment from all participants to ensure a pleasant atmosphere and strong group cohesion for good synchronization on stage. We can’t wait to see you shine ! Please note there is no session on the 4th October. On the last session, Saturday 25th October, you will do a rehearsal in costume at Danceworks, followed by the last rehearsal at the theatre. Jenny will add you in a WhatsApp group to give you more information concerning the course’s progress.
FEMALE STREET DANCE WITH SARAH STANLEY
WEDS | 8-9:30PM | ALL LEVELS | 17th SEPT – 22nd OCT | £180 | 18+
Laaaaadies! It’s that time of the year!
For this course, participants can expect to be part of a group of like-minded women with strong dance crew vibes. The Royal Family Dance Crew serves as an inspiring reference point for the style and energy being aimed for. The choreography will be strong, bold, and quietly sexy—think Rihanna and Beyoncé energy. The instructor will adapt the choreography to accommodate varying levels within the group, ensuring everyone looks their best on stage. The group will challenge themselves with a lighthearted approach, where sweat and laughter are guaranteed. Rehearsals will run for 1.5 hours, allowing time to polish the routine and know it inside out, so that dancers can feel confident and have fun during the performance. In weeks one and two, the focus will be on learning the choreography and discussing costumes. Weeks three and four will introduce transitions and formations. Weeks five and six will be dedicated to practice, practice, practice. On the day of the performance, there will be an opportunity to rehearse on stage before the show begins. This is a fantastic opportunity for participants to step out of their comfort zone and be part of something truly fun.
FOSSE WITH TOMMY LANGDALE
SUNDAYS | 2-3PM | ALL LEVELS | 4th SEPT – 19th OCT | £120 | 18+
An exciting opportunity for dancers, as well as dancers who sing. Throughout the rehearsal process, we’ll develop choreography, explore movement, and incorporate furniture and props to create a truly theatrical Fosse-inspired piece. This project is open to all ages and abilities, with the diversity of the cast bringing something special to the stage.
Rehearsals will take place on Sundays, with additional extended sessions scheduled during the final week. Full training and guidance will be provided. Props will be supplied, and costumes will be decided collaboratively as a team to create a unified look.
CONTEMPORARY WITH NAFISAH BABA
MON | 8-9PM | GEN LEVEL | 15th SEPT – 20th OCT | £120 | 18+
This 7 week course will showcase your passion for contemporary dance and performing. This is for those who regularly come to class or are up for a wonderful, gentle challenge that is aimed to develop your technique, gain confidence and do what you love (or even dream of doing!) alongside like-minded people. There is a space for everyone here! Week by week we will build a piece together, choreographed by myself as well as introducing creative tasks, working as a strong team alongside your peers to commit to our company. Over the next we will finish learning choreography, have plenty of time to rehearse & polish and ensure everyone is feeling powerful and prepped. Come and join this supportive, inspiring, nurturing environment alongside likeminded people. We will begin to learn the choreography on Week 1!
