Biography

Since winning BBC Young Dancer in 2017, Nafisah has worked with companies & renowned choreographers, performing through the UK and internationally, whilst also continuing to dive into the freelance, TV & Film world. Trained in tap, ballet, modern and jazz, with extensive Classical & Contemporary Dance training and inspired by different Hip Hop qualities, Nafisah’s hybrid way of movement encompasses many elements, as well as her teaching style & methods. 

Her 2023 teaching credentials include:

Working as Contemporary Tutor at Italia Conti, Lion King Company class, Matthew Bourne Company class & Autumn Residency for graduates, Artistry Youth Dance, Yorkshire Ballet Seminars, Urdang, several dance schools including JazzArts & Lamta Academy on a teaching trip in Cape Town, South Africa, Ballet Futures, Care to Dance & other workshops, outreach programmes.

Class Description

CLASS • CHOREO • CREATION

Nafisah will lead a contemporary based class to get centred and warm. We will then learn a new choreography together (permission to film). 

After a short break, we continue using task-based exercises individually and connecting in groups, with the intention of creating a short final group piece.
