Class Description

These classes are designed for dancers who have already refined their technique and are ready to elevate their artistic expression. Aimed at the intermediate to advanced level, the class focuses on the continued development of dancers working within this range. It includes a combination of barre and center exercises to enhance classical technique, artistic expression, and discipline. Emphasis is placed on individual coaching, offering personal corrections tailored to each dancer’s needs. The lessons are structured to improve strength, endurance, coordination, musicality, and attention to technical detail. Dancers will engage with complex combinations that challenge both their physical capabilities and their expressive range. Throughout the class, the goal is to foster confident enjoyment while advancing both technical skill and artistic depth.

Biography

Kim Amundsen is a highly accomplished and qualified Higher Education dance instructor with 12 years of experience planning and delivering dance curricula at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Born in Bodø, Norway, Kim trained at the Oslo National Academy of Dance and the Heinz-Bosl-Stiftung Ballet Academy University of Music and Performing Arts Munich. He has performed with world-renowned companies, including Bavarian State Ballet, Wayne Sleep’s World of Classical Ballet, Random Dance and New adventures. Amundsen is an expert in Classical Ballet (Vaganova, Ceccetti, RAD) Contemporary Dance (Limón) and Boris Kniaseff Floor Barre method. He has a proven ability to foster critical thinking, creative exploration, and advanced technical skills in diverse student populations. Amundsen is a Lecturer of Dance & Personal Tutor at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. He develops and delivers comprehensive curricula for undergraduate students, encompassing Classical Ballet, Contemporary Dance, and Kniaseff Floor Barre, across Foundation to Postgraduate levels. He also leads and mentors’ students in artistic and technical development, fostering a disciplined and explorative learning environment. Kim also teaches at Acosta Advanced training huh. Teaching The next generation of talent Kniaseff Floor Barre method and Classical Ballet technique. He is a highly sought-after dance instructor and choreographer.
