Biography
Burcu started her professional dance career as a soloist at the Izmir State Opera and Ballet in 1996, and danced as the sole principal ballerina in all ballet works staged by İZDOB between 1998 and 2006.
She took a break from dancing at İZDOB in the second half of 2004, when she danced at the USA Indianapolis Ballet International, with the soloist contract she received, and during that time, she danced with the company in Dracula, Le Corsaire, and Sleeping Beauty Ballets, participated in their tours, and participated in the team’s New York tour. – In the article published in the New York Times after made a name for itself.
She moved to Istanbul after getting married in 2006, and continued dancing in leading roles at the Istanbul Ballet as a prima ballerina.
After working as the Istanbul Ballet Head Teacher, she returned to the Izmir State Opera and Ballet in 2019 and served as Ballet Master, Repetitor, Ballet Head Teacher and Ballet Head Choreographer. She left the State Ballet in March 2023.
She currently works as a Guest Ballet Teacher both at home and abroad. Apart from the State Ballet, the institutions where he taught: Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory, Izmir Culture and Arts Academy, Jose Mateo Ballet Company USA, Joburg Ballet (South Africa), Augsburg (Germany)…
In 2022 and 2023, she collaborated with the Olten Philharmonic on a joint project and choreographed the highly acclaimed show SENTEZ.
She is the founder and director of the Art House BSB ARTS.
