Biography
Marika Brussel is a London-based, American choreographer. She studied on scholarship at Joffrey Ballet and danced with Joffrey Concert Group before exploring fiction writing. She came back to ballet and danced professionally with Ballet Repertory Theatre of New Mexico and Napoles Ballet Theatre (San Francisco). Her ballets have been commissioned by many companies, including Kansas City Ballet, Madison Ballet, New Ballet Studio Company, ARC Dance Company, Columbia Repertory Ballet, Sacramento Ballet, and Hudson Ballet Theatre. She teaches for New Adventures.
Class Description
This class takes classical ballet technique and shapes it into a moving, and exciting experience. Barre uses different sources for music, making the traditional exercises new again. Center takes on original choreography that flows and incorporates some contemporary work (This is not a class for absolute beginners, at least one year of Ballet is required. No Contemporary dance experience is needed).
