TESTIMONIALS

The top 4 reasons my daughter dances at Park Avenue Dance Works are:

1.    The Professional Staff, including Master Classes, Dance Team and Extra Instruction.

2.    The Fact that the Dance Studio is designed to minimize potential injury to the dancer.

3.    The Variety of Teacher, Methods, quality of Recitals.

4.    It's FUN!!!

My daughter has danced at Park Avenue Danceworks since the day they opened their doors. Park Avenue Danceworks has consistently given her the highest quality instruction, opportunities that have helped her grow, and hours and hours of fun! She'll be taking ten classes this year!

My daughter dances at PADW…it wasn’t my idea, more than a few have heard me say it’s out of my league I grew up running the deserts of Arizona barefooted. I don’t know anything about dancing but my daughter, the last remaining at home, wanted to dance. Of course the only place worthy of her is PADW.

I have observed activities of the studio pre-witch hunt and of course following the hunt. The judicial system in Montrose is a soapbox rant for another day. Let's stay focused on why I keep my daughter here at Park Avenue Dance Works. The owners and teachers have been lauded for “quality” and for “safe caring” instruction at the studio. I agree with that but, let me throw out another “quality” they offer that really matters:

Inspiration.

Val and John and the teachers at PADW have inspired my daughter not only to be a great dancer but also, to learn. They have inspired her to be a better person not just at the studio but everywhere she goes. They have inspired her to apply some of the learning techniques to her school studies and her life. She has taken techniques from dance and improved her physical education at school. Those techniques helped her to go from a 15:48 in the mile run to 11:04. I heard from her mouth this summer “there is no value for me to become a couch potato. I want to get a line (muscle definition) in my arms”. What mom has heard that?

Inspiration to be a better all around student came from Val, John and the teachers they have selected. I have watched her be put into tough dancing pieces or classes and be pushed to learn and become the quality student she wants to be. I saw her in those situations be inspired by her fellow students and teachers creating the dancer that she is becoming. In one incident there were four students that made a point of helping her when she was in tears of frustration. Those students will be forever ingrained in my heart and, I am sure, hers. She now dances on the New Generation of Feet First, she is the youngest girl there. Not one fellow team member treated her like some “10” year old, she is a peer dancer with the rest of them. I cannot even begin to tell you how important that is for my daughter. She has gone from tap class 1 to 3 in one dance season. That kind of inspiration is invaluable. Those teachers and students have inspired her to be better and learn more.

Dance is work, great dance is harder work, and professional quality dance is a commitment. She found the inspiration and character to become a great and professional dancer. That is priceless. And it’s not because I work there or am friends with all the “right people” it is because I am a parent and want quality, inspiration and character to be in my daughters life. That was found at Park Avenue Dance Works.
